Education Consultant Profile

Shelley Owens Schaal

Shelley has always had a thirst for knowledge and a desire to assist others in not only seeing their full potential, but reaching it. As a youth, Shelley volunteered with the Special Olympics and worked as a Peer Counsellor in student residence at the University of Regina, where she eventually obtained a BA (Honours) in Psychology. She went on to continue her education and became a Technical Writer. Over the past 15 years, Shelley has been producing technical and training documentation for a wide range of industries, including the telecom, engineering, oil & gas, medical, and accounting fields.

For the past 8 years, Shelley has been focused on designing and developing training materials in the area of Adult Education. She designed, developed and delivered an introductory course in meditation and also worked as a Life Coach, helping individuals discover their own dreams and the path that would take them there. Shelley also volunteered with the Canadian Mental Health Association in Calgary within their Wellness program, delivering presentations on Coping with Stress to various junior and senior high schools throughout the city.

Shelley believes that knowledge is power and the opportunity to help empower others is very fulfilling. When the opportunity came to work with Tutor Doctor, Shelley felt it was a culmination of all that she had worked towards. As a mother of two pre-school aged children, Shelley understands the desire for parents to ensure their child has every opportunity for success. Tutor Doctor offers the ability to not only help parents help their children be successful, but also to help students gain confidence and empower them to believe in their dreams.
